Hi there, my name is Youngin Kang
and I am a budding scholar
studying at the Institute of Communications Research
at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
My ultimate goal is to become
a thorn in society:
a scholar whose research and teaching challenge
the tacitly approved dominations and oppressions
hiding under the cloak of popular cultures,
wrestling with questions of
gendered hierarchies,
biopolitics regarding race, gender and sexuality,
and Euro- and US-centric world-making.
